The massive after-school brawl broke out at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16 at a popular strip mall on Brower Avenue, police said. During the fight, Khaseem Morris, 16, was stabbed in the chest multiple times, and a 17-year-old was hospitalized with a broken arm and swelling to his head.

Morris, a brand new student at Oceanside High School, died shortly before midnight on Monday night from his injuries.

Now, investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating six or seven teens who were involved in what was reportedly a “prearranged” fight, possibly over a girl. Police reportedly know the identities of the suspects, and are using them to turn themselves into custody.

The fight was captured by a witness on a cellphone video and disseminated on social media through Snapchat. Other surveillance videos are also being reviewed. In the cellphone video, a group of teenagers can be seen kicking and punching the teenagers.

In total, there were between 50 and 70 witnesses watching the attack at the scene, police said, though few offered an assist, with several instead shooting video and posting on social media.
